Cables!

This is my first attempt at cables. It's much easier than it looks - if I can do it, anyone can! This blanket is for my cousin Suzi's baby girl, which will be born this spring.

It Will Fit *Someone*!

With the wind chill in the single digits, I was in the mood to knit a hat. About halfway through, I realized that it is going to be much too small for me, but kept on knitting. My friend Robyn's little girl might like to wear it!

Booties that Stay On

I have made these baby booties in several colors - most of them being pink and blue. They are fun to make, and moms have told me that they actually stay on their babies' feet quite well.

For the Person Who Has Everything...

I am making these "knitted Christmas ornaments" to give as presents this year. I use leftover sock yarn - the kind that makes its own stripes. Whoever comes up with these knitting patterns is super creative! The lady at the yarn shop showed me how to make these. She calls them "little sweaters for ball ornaments". :)

Stuff for Baby Cameron

Here is the blanket I created for Jimmy and Angela's sweet new baby, Cameron, who was born yesterday. I started on it over the summer, while at boy scout camp. (There was some down-time while boys were at various activities.) Since it was made in five strips, one of the other guy leaders wondered what I was making. I told him it was for my brother's baby, and he said "What are they having? Baby snakes?" I thought that was cute.

I used the leftover yarn to make this little jester hat. All of it is knit from Plymouth Dreambaby DK yarn. Very soft!

First Entrelac Attempt

This is the entrelac scarf I made for my mom last winter. (Just now got a copy of the picture she took of it.) This type of pattern is impossible to put down, as I always have to finish the section I'm working on. Too bad I don't have any of that yarn with me to make another one here on vacation - it's the perfect project for uninterrupted knitting time. We're in Florida where the weather is less than perfect today and tomorrow, but I did work on some socks on the drive down here. Stay tuned for sock news....

White Blankie

I knit this soft white blankie for my friend whose baby is due in the beginning of April. They don't know if it's a boy or girl, so I thought white would be safe. But it's pretty girlie looking, so I'm working on a blue one now, just in case. They already have 4 girls and 1 boy, so chances are good they won't need the blue one. I used Dreambaby DK yarn - very nice and soft.
